Nintendo Keeps The Games Coming Through Out 2016

Nintendo let loose a bevy of details today from their latest Nintendo Direct, be it  Star Fox, Paper Mario or Kirby, the amount of games was quite large. But beyond the big Wii U titles, there were even more covered, including Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Lost Reavers, Monster Hunter Generations, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, Rhythm Paradise Megamix, Super Nintendo games on Virtual Console for New Nintendo 3DS and more beyond.

If you have not seen the direct, check it out below, but continue reading to see the games that really grabbed me.

After many years since its announcement, the Shin Megami Tensai X Fire Emblem game is almost here and with a new title to boot. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #(sharp) FE looks to be another hit from developer Atlus.

A sinister force from another dimension has invaded modern-day Tokyo, resulting in a fantastical barrage of style, fashion, music, and, of course, danger. So play to your strengths in high-energy turn-based battles, then fuse items to craft powerful weapons and crush your foes. Around every corner you’ll find fan-service – including Fire Emblem references – original songs by Japanese entertainment giant Avex, dungeons themed after the entertainment industry, and eye-catching music performances.

The game will be available on Wii U June 25

Lost Reavers is a new title from Bandai Namco that is a online co-op action game asks players to team up with other adventurers online to fight zombies and solve puzzles as they search for valuable treasure. As players complete missions, characters will level up, unlock additional skills and increase their in-game funds to acquire new weapons. The game is free to play, with an open beta coming out on April 15 ahead of the full release on April 29.

Monster Hunter Generations is the latest entry in the long running Monster Hunter series. The new Style system and Hunter Arts create the most customisable Monster Hunter experience yet, while players will now have the option to play as a Felyne for the first time ever.

The game will feature a special collaboration armour set based on Marth from the Fire Emblem series, while anyone who plays Monster Hunter Generations on a Nintendo 3DS system with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate save data will unlock bonus content in the new game.

The game is coming out on Nintendo 3DS later this year.

Metroid Prime Federation Force was announced at E3 last year and it was not received well, fans were not sure of what to make about a Metroid game that did not have Samus Aran in it. Today, they announced more details about the game, including having a video by series producer Kensuke Tanabe. Players take on missions that tell the story of the battle between the Galactic Federation’s elite Federation Force unit and the Space Pirates. Each player must select and carry specific sub-weapons based on their preferred roles.

The game is due for release sometime this Winter.

A game that was very out of left field was Rhythm Heaven Megamix, the game is a combination of all of the Rhythm Heaven series, including games that come from the Gameboy Advance title, that never saw release outside of Japan.

The game offers more than 100 rhythm games, with 30 brand new rhythm games on top of 70 selected from previous games and players can enjoy this game later in the year on Nintendo 3DS.

Perhaps the strangest news was that Virtual Console is getting a revamp on Nintendo 3DS with Super Nintendo games coming to the platform, well only if you have a New Nintendo 3DS unit. Over four weeks, 8 titles will be available, with the first wave being available now.
