Take back the arcade with Halo: Fireteam Raven
During the latest Inside Xbox show, 343 Studios announced an all new Halo game, coming to arcades around the world, Halo: Fireteam Raven and it looks interesting.
This new entry into the world of Halo is a cooperative arcade sci-fi shooting game from arcade legends Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix in a unique partnership with 343 Industries. Set in the timeframe of Halo: Combat Evolved, this new arcade experience hot-drops players feet first into the boots of Fireteam Raven – a group of elite Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) on the surface of Alpha Halo fighting alongside the Master Chief and the rest of the UNSC as they try desperately to prevent the alien Covenant alliance from taking control of the ancient superweapon—Halo.

“We couldn’t be happier to announce this project and have had an absolute blast working with Eugene Jarvis – one of my personal heroes and inspirations – and the wonderful team of talented designers and creators at Raw Thrills,” said Kiki Wolfkill, Head of Halo Transmedia at 343 Industries. “Arcade games are a wholly different challenge compared to console and PC gaming, and we’ve learned a tremendous amount as we worked with Raw Thrills to make this happen.”
“Halo: Fireteam Raven is without a doubt, the most spectacular arcade experience we’ve ever made,” said Eugene Jarvis, CEO of Raw Thrills. “After years of development it is now ready. Experience the intensity and live the world of Fireteam Raven. You will never be the same!”
An enormous 130-inch, 4k screen experience and four turret-mounted, multipurpose machine guns allow four players to fight Covenant troops, spacecraft, and vehicles, encounter the horrifying “Flood” infestation — and save the galaxy in frenetic, explosive combat. Scatter all this across a wide variety of epic landscapes and encounters in a cooperative (and competitive!) experience and you’ve got a Halo adventure like nothing else you’ve ever played in the franchise
As an added bonus, players will be able easily scan a QRC code with their phones and connect their arcade experience to their overall Halo identity online on Halo Waypoint – and compete with their friends and rivals for high scores on this challenging and thrilling game.
The game is releasing in the USA this Winter and after which, it will make its way around the world to other countries, no word on when it might land in Australia though.
