A classic returns though expanded with Sonic X Shadow Generations coming later this year
In the recent State of Play, Sega were on hand to reveal that Sonic Generations was getting the remaster treatment, but its not just a straight port as the game is being expanded upon with Shadow The Hedgehog content, thus the new name Sonic X Shadow Generations. The game of course features a full remaster of the original Sonic Generations, complete with its iconic 2D and 3D stages with upgraded visuals and bonus content, no word on the 3DS exclusive levels making the jump.
For the new content, players will take on the role of Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities. When Shadow’s old nemesis, Black Doom, re-emerges and threatens to take over the world, Shadow must journey into his own past, confront painful memories, face familiar foes, and unlock new powers to save the world and prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form!
The game is currently aiming for a Spring 2024 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
