Ara History Untold takes their turn via the Xbox Developer_Direct

During the recent Xbox Developer_Direct, Oxide Games were on hand to dive into their upcoming strategy title, Ara: History Untold, which is launching on PC later this year.

One of the biggest additions to the genre that the game is hoping will resonate with players is their changes to the genres optimal strategy. In most games, this system basically states that when a player finds a path that works for their style of play, they have obtained a path to success. In Ara, the team hope that by including a bag of randomness to events, that it causes players to stop and think.

Another area the game hopes to diversify itself is with the era’s, like with the Bronze era once you reach the milestone to upgrade to the next, most games will push you forward. In Ara, you can just stay in the Bronze era and see how far you can push your world without needing to move ahead.

As strategy games like this are not my thing, I couldn’t tell you if anything they were saying about the game is good or bad, thankfully the team have a nice story on the Xbox Wire, which should include a lot more details for genre fans.

The game is coming to PC and via Game Pass for PC later this year, with a Spring release date being the plan.
