Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora gets both an update and story expansion

Ubisoft have released the second of the story expansions for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, along with a new update. The former is a paid offering, while the latter is free for all owners of the game. Check out the trailer for the story expansion below.

The story expansion is called Secrets of the Spires and continue the narrative from the base game, but if you want to skip straight to the expansion you can do that. If you opt to skip then you will skip ahead through the events of the main story and equip you with everything you need to experience the story pack content. To begin, go to your quest log and select the quest "Anufi's Favor"

In this expansion players will discover epic battles in the skies above the Spires of the Clouded Forest, a new mountainous region that is being added to the game. For those who are mapping out the regions of Pandora, this is on the Western Frontier.

This new land has been created so that you can soar on your Banshee, or ikran if you prefer the local name and engage in aerial battles with the RDA. You won’t just be flying in blind, so to speak, as your ikran will have new skills and there is even a new mounted weapon.

You won’t be along in your fight as you will also get to meet a new Na’vi clan, one that is secluded within the mountains, but they have also been fighting the RDA.

As for the free update, that is much smaller, there is one thing actually, so it isn’t small so much as it is tiny. Here is the update for all platforms:

  • You can now use skill points to unlock and upgrade several new skills for your ikran, such as Ikran Smash, Launch, Flares and more!

OMG, I know its crazy. Just how much is in the update, well there is one more thing, the game now supports PlayStation 5 Pro.

  • 60 FPS Quality Mode - The game will run at 60 FPS using Quality Mode on Playstation 5 Pro

  • Increased internal resolution - The increased hardware performance allows the game to reach both higher FPS and higher rendering resolution, resulting in increased resolution in certain scenarios.

  • PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) - Integration of the new machine learning-based temporal upscaler PSSR, which uses the new ML-hardware of the PS5 Pro, bringing better quality and performance.
