Baldur's Gate 3 is dated and picks up the PlayStation 5 as a launch platform
Larian Studios have been hard at work on Baldur’s Gate 3 for quite sometime, we put time into the game when it first hit early access back in 2020. Now the game has a release date, August 31st for both PC and Mac, but as was revealed during the State of Play, the game is also coming on the same date to PlayStation 5.
The games trailer showcases General Ketheric Thorm, a necromancer who is leading an army of the undead to the city of Baldur’s Gate, in an order to reclaim what he lost. Actually, whilst he may seem invincible, he is not the only one to deal with as he is just one of three main antagonists that your party will need to contend with
Ketheric’s plans for the people of Faerûn are as complex as his motivations, and the studio cast renowned actor J.K. Simmons to voice the character. They have also released a small clip of a session of him in the booth, just note some small story spoilers may be found within.
The studio still have two more antagonists to reveal and will do so over the coming months, the only hint on what one of them will be, is something wiggly.
The game will have a digital deluxe edition as well as the basic release, for those who want a little extra. The game is dated to release on August 31st for PC, Mac and PlayStation 5.
