Development on Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold

CD Projekt Red have announced that the main development for Cyberpunk 2077 has been completed and that the game has gone Gold. The use of the word gold here is to imply that the game has been printed on a master disc, usually gold in colour, that would then be used for printing all the copies sent to stores, it’s an older term but it checks out.

While the main development is done, the studio will no doubt be hard at work on creating a day 1 patch for the game that adds in or fixes things they couldn’t get to in time and those that are not on that, will be working on the games DLC, though that is likely a small number.

In other news, the map of Night City has been leaked, as some physical items were discovered over the weekend and shared on ResetEra.

I have seen plenty of folks complain that the city is smaller than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s massive world, but the difference is that here, there are countless levels above and below ground, where as in The Witcher, things were more spread out.

Either way, looks like it will be a fun city to explore and there is not long left to go, as the game is hitting Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on November 19.
