DOOM Eternal forges a real Sentinel Hammer, celebrating the Ancient Gods Part Two
Bethesda Australia have hammered the fact that they know how to make games break into our world and while they usually do it with street art, this time, they went for a more direct approach, with the newest weapon in DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part Two, the Sentinel Hammer. Check out the below construction video, to see how this new and already iconic weapon, was brought to life.
Players will gain access to the weapon, fairly early in the second DLC for DOOM Eternal, but while there it is handed to the player, here it took a bit more effort to obtain. The hammer was built by Hench & Scrap Foundry, known for their prop work and I say they did a great job.
“To make the Sentinel Hammer, we first needed to painstakingly create the model to include a huge amount of detail and clarity, and then utilise two kinds of 3D print technology: FDM and SLA resin,” said Hench & Scrap Foundry. “After the printing was complete, we then carefully applied finishes and integrated complex electronics and a massive aluminium handle, before turning our attention to the final paint job. It turns out that harnessing Wraith Energy is quite the task!”
As always with these things, there is no word on where it will end up, the massive wood carving of the Revenant was put on display at ACMI, so this could follow suit. Either way, check out some photos of it below, glowing for the world to see.
