EA Sports FIFA 23 debuts its Ultimate Edition cover, featuring local star Sam Kerr
In the words of Rafiki, it has begun, because the first details for EA Sports FIFA 23 are starting to appear, more specifically the cover art for the Ultimate Edition of the game, which has two big calls to its name, but first check out the art below.
Located on the left is international superstar Kylian Mbappé, who is making his third appearance on the cover of a FIFA game, funnily enough, it is also the third year in a row, with his face being on the covers of FIFA 21 and FIFA 22 respectively. Currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, he has ranked up there in terms of goals scored, trophies won and more and is only 23 years old.
On the right side of the case is Sam Kerr, a local girl who plays for Chelsea and has the distinction of being the first woman’s football star to be on the global cover of the iconic sports series. Having played in local leagues, before transferring to Chelsea back in 2020, Kerr is also the captain of the Australian Woman’s Soccer team, known as the Matildas.
“Both Kylian and Sam are generational talents, and having them grace the covers of the final FIFA is a monumental moment not only for the franchise, but for EA SPORTS as a whole,” said David Jackson, VP Brand, EA SPORTS FC. “FIFA 23 is our most innovative and feature packed title ever and we’re energized to have two of football’s greatest players share their love of the game with fans around the world.”
The other reason this is has a big call to it, the game is the last one to be released under the EA Sports FIFA banner, making this the last Ultimate Edition of the icon series.
