Endwalker is the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online

Square Enix have announced that Final Fantasy XIV Online will expand later in 2021, to a new platform and in scope as the Endwalker expansion has been released, check out the teaser trailer for it below.

Scheduled to release fall 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Mac, Endwalker features the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, in which Warriors of Light will encounter an even greater calamity than ever before as they travel to the far reaches of Hydaelyn and even to the moon. In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the beloved MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together.

As part of the reveal, it was also announced that the game is coming to PlayStation 5 later in the year as well. The game is set to launch into open beta on the PlayStation 5 on April 14 and that will give players a chance to test it out, as well as seeing the many updates from the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Those have the game on PlayStation 4 can get free access to the game on PlayStation 5 during the open beta and will experience significantly improved frame rates, faster load times, 4K resolution support and more. Those who don’t own the game will be able to sample the game through the free trial.

Part of the new expansion though, is the addition of a new playable role, the Sage, check out some screens, a trailer and design art for this new job below.

In addition to a new job, players will also get to discover all new locations, such as Radz-at-Han, seen below this text, Thavnair below that and finally the darker location and also Imperial Capital of Garlemald. Each will have new quests to discover and characters to meet.
