Mortal Kombat 1 is coming this September, being birthed by fire
After teasing for a bit, the confirmation has been made and Mortal Kombat is back, with Mortal Kombat 1 and its coming on September 19. Check out the debut trailer for it below.
So far the roster features Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, but they are stating more will come.
The biggest inclusion so far, is what the developers are calling Kameo Fighters and they have nothing to do with the character Kameo. Kameo Fighters are a unique roster of partner characters to assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay possibilities for players. These characters are chosen separately from the main roster of fighters.
“Mortal Kombat 1 marks a new beginning for the franchise and we couldn’t be more excited to share this original storyline and fresh take on classic characters with our fans. We’re also introducing our Kameo Fighter system which brings a unique roster of partner characters into the mix, and we are looking forward to showing this feature as well as more new elements of the game very soon.”
The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC.
