Toei Animation and developer Toydium have a new game for players who enjoy what goes bump in the night, with the reveal of Noroi Kago: The Grudged Domain. Check out the reveal trailer below.

Noroi Kago: The Grudged Domain is a survival co-op horror game based around the theme of yokai. These are supernatural beings which stem from traditional Japanese folklore. The game allows for co-operative play for up to four players where the aim is to escape from an enclosed space in which yokai roam.

The game is inspired by the chilling atmosphere of Japanese horror films. Immerse yourself in a unique art style, crafted to showcase the strong contrast between light and shadow. Much of the work is derived from Shigeru Mizuki, the original author of the manga “GeGeGe no Kitaro”. Every unsuspecting yokai creeping through the shadows is sure to incite more fear.

For those thinking Yokai are not that scary, all the players will also be cursed, which if left untreated will slowly eat away at their bodies before turning them into a half-demon. Worry not though as if you work together with your fellow players, you might be cured.

Right now the game is only revealed for PC via Steam, but with the game showing up at Tokyo Game Show 2024, it could change.
