Overwatch 2 is powering up some heroes with the power of the Olympian Gods in its new mode
Blizzard have announced that new limited time event for Overwatch 2 is now live, giving players a chance to wield their favourite hero from those included, while the hero wields the power of the Olympian Gods. Check out the trailer for it below.
Battle for Olympus will feature seven heroes that get special powers when they activate their divine ultimates that stack new effects on top of the ability. Alongside their divine ultimates, heroes have unique interactions with one another as they ascend from mortal to myth in Battle for Olympus.
Immortalize your favorite hero through a little friendly competition during Battle for Olympus! The hero with the highest number of kills overall from the event will have their statue placed on the Illios Ruins arena map to commemorate their victory.
Here is the list of heroes you can play as:
Ramattra as Poseidon
Junker Queen as Zeus
Reinhardt as Minotaur
Roadhog as Cyclops
Pharah as Hades
Widowmaker as Medusa
Lúcio as Hermes
Given the lack of other gods, ie Ares, Athena, Artemis, Apollo, Hephaestus and more, it is clear the developers either didn’t have time for more, or decided to focus on ones that easily matched to existing heroes. For the full breakdown of the skills and powers of each hero, check out the blog post here.
You can complete special challenges for free rewards throughout the Battle for Olympus event. Unlock voice lines, player titles, and work your way up to unlocking the Legendary Winged Victory Mercy skin.
The event is live now on all versions of the game, just note the game itself is not fully available and is still technically in its early access phase.
