Payday 3 has dropped a new update, including a beta for its solo mode
Deep Silver and developer Starbreeze have announced that the second expansion for Payday 3 has landed and brings the game second chapter with it, along with much more. Check out the developer update below to get a full rundown.
In the thrilling sequel to Chapter 1: Syntax Error, the crew escalates their daring escapades to new heights by targeting a police station. This bold move embodies the spirit of PAYDAY, turning each purloined gold bar into a defiant challenge to the powers that be.
Inside of the DLC there are three packs, they are:
The Heist Pack: with PAYDAY 3: Chapter 2 - Boys in Blue
The Weapon Pack with 3 new weapons, 26 mods and 2 cosmetics
The Tailor Pack with 4 new masks, 4 new suits, and 4 new gloves.
The above is for all players who have either bought the game via the Silver or Gold Editions, or bought the Gold Pass afterwards. For all players, regardless of what game version they bought, a free update has also been released.
There are a few smaller additions with the update, including:
New heister Clover, originally introduced to the PAYDAY series in 2014, including a gun and weapon charm
New Primary weapon – LMG
Loadout renaming
But the major addition here is the beta for Solo Mode. In this beta, the sections of the game previously hosted on PAYDAY servers are now hosted on players' devices. What it does is skip the matchmaking step, meaning players still must log in and have access to the internet, but only for the initial identification and start up. This is the first step to support a full offline option in the future.
More details and changes for the Solo Mode will come in time, as feedback is collected from players and things are tweaked, but its a good step in making the game enjoyable for those who can’t a team together.
The update is out now for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
