Resident Evil Re:Verse is ending its service this June

Capcom have announced that a little over 2 years since Resident Evil Re:Verse went live, the game will be ending. While the date has been set for its closure, there are still months until that time, as it will happen in phases.

The first phase begins on March 4, when the game and all the DLC are removed from digital store fronts. That means the base game and the following items will be removed:

  • Jill Skin: Battle Suit (Resident Evil 5)

  • Chris Skin: Gun Show (Resident Evil 5)

  • Claire Skin: Leather Jacket (Resident Evil Revelations 2)

  • Hunk Skin: Grim Reaper (The Mercenaries 3D)

  • Ada Skin: Still Kicking (The Umbrella Chronicles)

  • Leon Skin: Leather Jacket (Resident Evil 6)

  • Creature Skin: Super Tyrant 1998 (Resident Evil 2)

  • Creature Skin: Hunter γ (Resident Evil Outbreak)

  • Premium Pass

  • RP Booster x3

  • RP Booster x10

  • RP Booster x50

If you already own the DLC or game, you will still have access to them, but no new buys will be allowed after that date. If you have removed the game and want to get it again, you can do so at any time until the servers go offline, which leads us to the next phase.

The second phase is the game going offline, which will happen at 4:59pm AEST on June 30. At that time the servers will be turned off and no more playing of the game will be possible.

Given that the game was Capcom’s third attempt at an online multiplayer game for Resident Evil and it did as well as the last two attempts, I can’t say that I am surprised to see it being taken offline. I am surprised that it took this long to do it, but oh well.
