Steam Deck gets an upgrade with an OLED screen and more

Players around the world have been asking Valve when they might release the Steam Deck in their countries, as right now its only available in a few, but rather than increase the amount of places the device is being sold, the Steam Deck now has an OLED screen.

The device is the same, mostly, as the one that exists already but of course now included an OLED screen, proving that they are again following the Switch in its design. The newer screen means that it can be brighter and offer up more colours, which should help with some darker videogames. As the OLED screen has less parts inside, the device is also lighter, around 30g, but hey it helps.

In addition the battery is larger, which means it will offer 30-50% more power, letting you game longer and part of that is due to the slightly smaller thread width on the custom AMD APU.

Finally, the OLED model has Wi-Fi 6E meaning that it offers up downloads around 3 times faster than the original Steam Deck. Which is great as the newer models also have new storage options, 512gb and 1tb.

All of this matters little to any gamer below the equator though, as Valve have not added any more regions to the sale of the device. If you want one, then importing is going to be your best option for now and honestly that is unlikely to change.
