The Acolyte reveals some of its details at Star Wars Celebration
Star Wars has been going for 46 years now and in that time, it has always come down to how will the good guys prevail over the bad guys. While baddies like Darth Vader, Maul, Cad Bane and countless others all have their fans, outside of comics and novels, they tend not to be the stars of anything, but that will change in 2024 when The Acolyte comes to Disney+
At the recent Star Wars Celebration in London, during the Lucasfilm Studios Panel, the cast of the show and the series creator got on stage to talk about the show. When asked why the show was set within the era of The High Republic, creator Leslye Headland said this.
So it wasn’t just because she wanted to have a Wookie Jedi, which we so totally will get to see in live action for the first time, the first being Gungi in season 2 of The Bad Batch. In fact Joonas Suotamo who played Chewbacca in the sequel trilogy is donning the fur once more to play Kelnacca, a Wookie Jedi Master.
As is the case with these events, companies only provide ‘exclusive’ looks for those who are willing to shell out hundreds of dollars on tickets. Squid Games Lee Jung-jae was seen in the footage, in his role as an unnamed Jedi Master, teaching some younglings. Carrie-Ann Moss is also in the show and was showing off in a battle between someone using a blade.
Sadly further details will have to wait, as the show is still in production, it only officially started back in November. For now a few photos from the cast on stage will have to be all we can enjoy.
