Twitch's new CEO is coming to SXSW Sydney
SXSW Sydney is only a few months away and Twitch CEO Dan “DJClancy” Clancy has been revealed to be joining the roster of those going, with the man joining a number of sessions across the show.
This is not the first time that Clancy has been to Australia, he was at Dreamhack Melbourne back in April 2024, but this does mark the first time he will be engaged in a number of public speaking events.
Clancy will join a number of Sessions, sharing his hard-won insights on the creator economy and what it takes to build and nurture online communities. In a recent Open Letter, Clancy outlined Twitch’s plans for 2024, noting collaboration, mobile experiences, sponsorships and safety as priority topics as keys to success. SXSW Sydney attendees will get the chance to hear Dan engage with local industry leaders and streamers, and explore where live streaming is going over the next few years.
Other guests, at least in the gaming space are Abubakar Salim, Doug Johns, Karrie Shirou Shao, Leah Williams and Min-Liang Tan. The full line up can be found here, for all the areas the show covers.
There are a number of games that are going to be on hand during the show, you can see the line up here, but the show is also about music, movies and more.
Just be aware that tickets are expensive, while PAX Australia might charge you $180 for the 3 days it is on, a ticket for just one aspect of SXSW Sydney is currently $1,095 and the cost will rise. If you want to get the best price, you had better get your tickets now.
