Get an Xbox One console with Xbox All Access

Xbox have announced that those seeking an Xbox One for their homes will have another option in Australia, with Microsoft and Telstra teaming up to offer plans for people to get gaming with.

The program is called Xbox All Access and will give people the console of their choice, controller and access to Xbox Game Pass. With Telstra, you need to have a post-paid plan with the company already, so a mobile or internet service and you are good to go.

Those who want the Xbox One S can get one for $27 a month, or if you want the more powerful Xbox One X, that will set you back $38 a month. If you decide you need to cancel the contract, you simply pay out the cost of the hardware, there is no cost associated with Game Pass, that will just end for that month.

"Instead of buying Xbox, what if you just joined Xbox? And by joining Xbox you got all the things you need? That was really the notion and the spearhead behind this idea," says Jeff Gattis, Microsoft's GM of platform and devices marketing. It really lowers the barrier to entry for people who are on the fence about buying a $300, $400, $500 console ... it has everything they need to have a great gaming experience for a low monthly price with no money up front".

“We have proven success in bringing network-enabled entertainment experiences to our customers and we want the gaming experience on Telstra’s network to be the best. We have lowered the barrier to entry to great gaming experiences with Xbox All Access and as online mobile gaming matures, we expect to see an explosion of even more content from developers. Xbox All Access with Telstra will do for gaming what Netflix and Spotify did for the content streaming market. When we first introduced Telstra TV, more than half of our customers had never streamed TV shows or movies before. Today, we have around 1.5 million Telstra TVs in Aussie homes,” Telstra Group Executive Consumer & Small Business Michael Ackland said.

“At Xbox we believe strongly in choice, so we are thrilled to be bringing Xbox All Access to Aussie gamers with Telstra. With no upfront cost and everything you need to get the most out of your console, including Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox All Access is a great way to get into gaming,” said Tania Chee, Xbox Business Lead ANZ.

In the USA and UK, there is an upgrade program to Project Scarlett, but that won't happen here, at this stage, you just need to buy out your existing hardware.
