8BitDo have released their Ultimate controller for Xbox
8BitDo have announced that the wireless version of their Ultimate controller has released for Xbox today, giving players another way to enjoy their games. This follows on from the corded release earlier in the year and the Switch release from a few years ago.
Much like the other Ultimate controllers, this one features Hall Effect sensors, meaning that they use magnets to detect where the stick is going, which theoretically eliminates stick drift. They also offer 2 read paddle buttons, so you can map functions or macros to them. They also allow for multiple profiles, so you can enjoy multiple games set up the way you want.
The controller is officially licensed and contains the array of Xbox buttons on its front, including that giant Xbox logo button in the middle. It is compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers and Android.
As far as connection methods go, it offers up Bluetooth, 2.4G and wired, so it could technically work on more platforms, just nothing official. As this is part of their Ultimate series, you can remap functions, tweak the stick sensitivity, trigger response and even the level of vibration.
Finally, as a wireless controller, you will get around 20 hours of play from 4 hours of charge. If you want to order one for yourself, they are available from Amazon in the USA, no local release has been announced at this time.
