All aboard! Monster Train 2 is hitting the tracks later this year
Big Fan and developer Shiny Shoe have announced Monster Train 2, which will hit the tracks of PC, Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2025. Check out the reveal trailer for the game below.
After setting the stage in the first game with the unique three-floor battle system, players should be ready for a new challenge in the sequel, as everything here is built upon that. You won’t be battling the forces of heaven this time as you race out of hell, but instead you will be joining them, because together, you might have a chance at stopping the powerful Titans. This battle will make tracks into the homeworld of the Titans, the charmingly named Abyss.
Wage war against devious new enemy Factions by guiding five all-new playable Clans, each with their own strategic advantages empowering alternative battle styles. Shiny Shoe has shuffled hundreds of new and familiar cards into Monster Train 2, including the debut of additional card types; Room Cards supply powerful boosts to a single floor of the train, Equipment Cards stack new powers onto individual units, and fan-favorite Clan-agnostic Neutral Cards offer massive opportunities that can turn a dire tide. New unit abilities have been added to the sequel, allowing the player to activate an ability at their choosing which gives a strategic advantage when used at opportune times. Experimentation is both rewarding and crucial for realizing the astonishing depth of Monster Train 2’s combat.
The game is coming to PC, Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2025, but there is no date beyond that at this time.
