Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion has been announced for 2024
Marvelous Europe and developed Mages have announced that Corpse Party II Darkness Distortion is coming in 2024 to Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. For the first time ever, the game will get a simultaneous release in all regions, which includes Australia. Check out the reveal trailer below.
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion follows three high school friends; Nemu Takanashi, Haruka Nanami, and Maria Hitsugi, as they explore the Amare Est Vivere Hospital, testing a local urban legend as the streamer Nemu seeks to boost her subscriber count. Unfortunately for the three girls, the legend of “Ayame’s Mercy” is true, and they trigger a decades-old curse that sends them into a dark realm. Together they must avoid the vengeful spirit of Ayame Kirishima and other horrors from the hospital’s dark past as they search for a way to dispel Ayame’s curse once and for all.
We have art for the three characters below, in the same order as the above.
Players can freely explore the fully 3D-rendered halls of the Amare Est Vivere Hospital in both third- and, for those brave enough to take a closer look, first-person viewpoints as they try to keep the girls alive. This new perspective complements the series’ visual novel-style storytelling, pairing updated visuals with gruesome descriptions and spine-tingling binaural audio accompanied by the original Japanese voiceovers.
As for release, the game will get a digital release on all its platforms, but only the Switch is getting a release in physical form, with the cover art for the Switch release shown int he middle below. The art on either side are posters meant to provide an idea on the vibe the game is going for.
For those who want a physical PlayStation 4 release, or a special edition, America is getting both options, but as XSEED are doing that themselves, that is different from the European and Australian release. But there is always Amazon or eBay if you really want it.
