The Elder Scrolls Online have released the first details for the Gates of Oblivion
After teasing the next year of content for The Elder Scrolls Online, during The Game Award 2020, but that was just a taste, the full reveal happened just moments ago, get ready as the Gates of Oblivion have opened again.
As usual, Matt Firor, the Zenimax Studio’s Director and Pete Hines, Vice President of Marketing and Communications hosted the stream, giving a look at what is to come, that includes of course new adventures, stories, characters and some new systems. Check out the debut trailer below, it is just a tease though.
The story starts off with an emperor, who made a pact with Mehrunes Dagon and they crafted four powerful weapons, in order to help achieve the the result they wanted, but something went wrong. Of course something went wrong, but that is where you come in, as the player will have to solve the crisis and once again, fight against Mehrunes Dagon.
Those who already own the game, can pre-order the digital upgrade, giving you access to Blackwood when it launches, anyone who does pre-order will also score a new mount and if you do so by March 17, you can get a new pet.
The below image, will help explain just what options are available, but if you want to go physical, a special collectors edition is coming, complete with a Mehrunes Dagon statue.
Like years past, the year long content plan will release as below, giving you plenty to play as the year progresses.
Blackwood, the full expansion, will release in June, so there is still a wait ahead for that, but when it launches, players can experience it on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those who have upgraded to new platforms, the game will run on those via backwards compatibility, but the full Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is still being planned for later in 2021, but there is no set date for them yet.
There is a lot more information that will be rolled out as the year progresses, but so far, the adventures into the badlands seem to be quite welcoming, despite the hectic nature of the location.
